My passion is technology! For over 20 Years, I have worked with a very broad range of technologies. I have experience with Windows and Linux Server operating systems, networking, many security products, voice, virtualization, and cloud using Azure and AWS. For years I have specialized in end-user computing with a particular emphasis on Citrix based solutions. Other focus areas include email and messaging with an emphasis on Microsoft Exchange and now Office 365. I am skilled with security technologies with a focus on Sophos firewalls and endpoint security products but I am also highly skilled with Cisco ASA and SonicWALL. I am very proficient in network and infrastructure with emphasis on Cisco products, VoIP which includes Cisco Voice products as well as Asterisk.
Automation is something I am particular fond of. I enjoy creating ways to automate tasks in my work as an IT professional utilizing scripting tools and software such as AppSense and RES. I also enjoy automation in other areas. As an example, for many years I have designed, built and improved a home automation system in my personal home. The system automates our lives using user controllable devices and apps, or even smart motion and door sensors. Almost everything is automated from the lights in practically every room to automated door locks, environmental controls, and the security system, which I also installed and programed myself.
One of the many blessings I have enjoyed is success running my own business. I have also had the privilege of running a successful IT consulting company as Executive Vice President. The company I ran experienced year over year growth of more than 20%.
I am highly analytical and enjoy using my skills to improve processes, products and services. I find it extremely rewarding to revamp a process or services and see the improved employee and customer satisfaction as a result of what I have created.
I have a passion for technologies and products that are well designed, well made, and enrich people’s lives. I am particularly fond of Apple Mac computers and German and Italian designed automobiles.
A particular fondness of mine is cars and other forms of motor vehicles and I love to go fast, as long as it is relatively safe. I have owned many high end cars such as Audi, BMW, and VW. My current car is a Maserati Quattroporte.
I like to work with my hands to create and build things myself, or to repair or improve the things I already own. In fact, that’s the only reason I can afford the cars I have owned, because I do most of my own car repairs and maintenance. I have also been known to install some pretty killer audio systems in mine and my friend’s cars.
Music inspires me. Because of this I have worked hard to learn to play the guitar and even some piano. In fact, I have played guitar for several church sponsored events and, for many years, for most Sunday morning and other church services. I have worked professionally as an audio installer and helped to design and install the audio visual systems for various churches and church venues. I have also played the role of sound engineer for several churches throughout the years.
I have been married to a wonderful women since 1993. We have two children. Our oldest son is now out making a life of his own and makes me very proud. He seems to be following in his dad's footsteps but I do hope he follows his passion for art. Our daughter is adopted. We are very blessed to have her in our lives! She is growing into a beautiful, smart, passionate young women. Our loving family helps keep me grounded and I consider myself extremely blessed to have them in my life.
